Gerontology issues in cardiology practice [Проблемы гериатрии в кардиологической практике]

Increase in life expectancy during the second part of the 20th century is accompanied by increase in proportion of elderly and senile age population. However, despite the increase in life expectancy, the prevalence of most chronic diseases and functional impairments rises with age. Elderly and senile age is associated with the risk of cardiovascular diseases (CVD), therefore the problem of managing elderly patients with CVD becomes especially urgent. © 2019 Media Sphera Publishing Group.
