Ideal breaking strength of metals according to generalized Van der Waals' equation

Investigations of thermodynamic stability of condensed phase have been carried out. Mathematical model of the thermodynamic stability has been developed with the use of Van der Waals' equation. This models allows to calculate limits of thermodynamic stability of condensed phase. Limits of ideal breaking strength of several metals have been calculated in case of their bulk tension at T=0 K, T=293 K, and at temperature of melting. Mode of temperature dependence of strength has been considered.
