INFLUENCE OF SOIL EROSION AND DEGRADATION ON SURFACE AND GRAND WATER QUALITY IN NIGERIA

There are challenges of soil erosion which occur in Nigeria as consequences of long-standing human associated activities and its erosion inclined land forms and climate. Factors such as the anthropogenic factor changes the physical landscape and causes soil erosion. It also has the influence on surface water bodies as floods mostly find their way into the rivers and streams. This article focuses largely on the erosion factors, how to thwart or lessen them. Soil erosion causes the impact on soil and water bodies by this means has an effect on its value and quality.
