ОСОБЕННОСТИ УРБАНИЗМОВ БРИТАНСКОГО И АМЕРИКАНСКОГО ВАРИАНТОВ АНГЛИЙСКОГО ЯЗЫКА

Актуальность статьи заключается в росте интереса к лексическим единицам английского языка, образовавшимся во время протекания урбанизационных процессов в Великобритании и США. Кроме того, интересным является нахождение общих и отличительных черт среди урбанонимной лексики британского и американского вариантов английского языка. Цель статьи - анализ принципов функционирования урбанонимной лексики в британском и американском вариантах английского языка и выявление характерных для них национально-отличительных лексических единиц, сформировавшихся в процессе урбанизации. В исследовании использован комплексный подход к изучению проблемы функционирования лексических единиц, обозначающих городские реалии Великобритании и США, к рассмотрению номинативных принципов формирования внутригородских названий в различных вариантах английского, особенностей их структурных характеристик. Материалом исследования стали названия внутригородских реалий, образовавшиеся на урбанизированных территориях Великобритании и США.

FEATURES OF URBANISMS OF THE BRITISH AND AMERICAN ENGLISH

The relevance of the article is the growing interest in the lexical units of the English language, formed during the urbanization processes in the UK and the USA. In addition, it is interesting to find common and distinctive features among the urban-alike vocabulary of British and American variants of the English language. The task of the article is to analyze the principles of the functioning of urban-language vocabulary in British and American English and identify their characteristic national-distinctive lexical units, which were formed in the process of urbanization. The study uses an integrated approach to the study of the functioning of lexical units denoting the urban realities of Great Britain and the United States, to the consideration of the nominative principles of the formation of intra-urban names in various English variants, the features of their structural characteristics. The materials of the study are the names of intra-urban realities formed in the urbanized territories of Great Britain and the USA.
