To the issue of the combat use of missile weapon in the caucasus in the XIX century

The article examines the combat use of missiles in the Caucasus in the XIX century. The attention is paid to the history of rocket weapons, its evolution and adaptation to the regional terms of warfare. As materials there were used the special literature, scientific publications, dissertations as well as memoirs and works of combatants-the participants of military operations in the Caucasus. Traditional for research of this kind, the principles of historicism, objectivity, and chronological, probabilistic-statistical and comparative methods are the methodological basis of the article. The chronological method allowed authors to consider the history of the formation and development of rocket weapons in retrospect. The comparative method was used to study the effectiveness of volley fire. In conclusion, the authors state that the missile has undergone a complex process of its formation and development in the XIX century. The missile systems and the tactics of the use of missile weapons were modified; the improvements were made in various types of missiles. The running of military developments was carried out on the theaters of military operations, and the Caucasus was remained the main of which in the first half of the XIX century.
