Universal human values "Family" and "Marriage" in Russian linguistic consciousness of the late XIX - Early XX centuries

The article highlights the process of transformation of such values as "family" and "marriage", began in the late XIX - early XX centuries, which is reflected in the linguistic view of the world of writers, philosophers, historians, politicians, clergy and public characters. The reasons of appeal to family subject were analyzed. It was shown that the formation of patriarchal society contributed to strengthening the inviolability of the family and marriage institution, which resulted in the impossibility to legitimize new marriages, to give the father's name to children, born outside of Christian marriage.
