The relevance of the research topic is confirmed not only by the current crisis in the North Caucasus, but also the general situation in the Russian Federation. The historical context of the creation of Ingush writer Idris Bazorkin’s novel Iz t’my vekov reflects specifics of the self-preservation of the Ingush ethnos under the conditions of Soviet pressure.
