Method for the assessment of traffic safety criteria in regions of the Russian Federation

The article discusses results of studies of needs for the improvement of traffic safety in regions of the Russian Federation with a high level of automobilization. A comparative analysis of traffic safety assurance indicators is performed. An analysis of the accident rate, performed based on the data for the Saratov and Samara Regions, allows assessing the road accident risk and determining a dependency between the automobilization level and the accident rate. Efficiency of the implementation of measures on traffic safety improvement is determined. The risk of road accidents and fatalities is predicted. © 2018 The Author(s).
