THE COOPERATION BETWEEN RUSSIA AND FRANCE IN THE FIELD OF HISTORY EDUCATION: TRADITIONS AND PROSPECTS

The article is devoted to problems of historical education in Russia and France, as well as their interaction in the development of joint educational programs. It is emphasized that in the conditions of intense international relations, this cooperation is not only a tool for achieving harmony and understanding between different national communities but also an instrument of rapprochement between these two countries. Cooperation in the field of educational policy is in modern times an important step towards the development of cultural diplomacy - system of approaches, which is gaining popularity both in Russian and in French international practice. The authors analyze the peculiarities of international cooperation programs in higher education, study opportunities and problematic aspects. The publication notes the importance of such interaction, which, according to the authors, is historically conditioned and has a long tradition, but, at the same time, prospects for further development. In the article authors used the materials concerning the program "History and dialogue of cultures", implemented jointly by the Russian Peoples' Friendship University (RUDN University) and the University Grenoble-Alpes (UGA). This program is an example of Russian-French cooperation in the field of humanities, particularly history education. As the example of implemented master's program the authors reveal the specific features of bilateral cooperation and considering features of the curriculum and special subjects. Overall, the article discusses the importance of teaching history in Russia and in France. It is noted that the study of the history, traditions and culture gives the opportunity to adapt to the social life of any country and the common historical knowledge creates the conditions for overcoming ethnic and cultural barriers and becomes one of the spiritual factors of international integration and cooperation. It is emphasized that the study of history expands the students of these two countries not only about the historical concepts created by scientists from France and Russia, their research methods, but the methods of teaching history, the peculiarities of everyday life and culture of the two countries.
