EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITY OF THE GREEK CULTURAL CENTER IN RUSSIA AS A FACTOR FOR FORMING THE POLITICAL CULTURE OF THE RUSSIAN SOCIETY

The article deals with the analysis and evaluation of the educational activities of the Greek Cultural Centre in Russia in recent years, the role of the Centre in the dissemination of the Greek language and culture on the territory of Russia as a factor in preserving the multiculturalism of Russian society. Russia in the civilizational plan was formed and developed under the dominant influence of Greece and Byzantium, their religious and cultural specifics. For many centuries, a large number of Greeks lived in Russia, and part of the historically Greek territory, where a large Greek community still exists, is part of the modern Russian state. The Greek cultural Center became a hotbed of the spread of the Greek language and culture in the Russian Federation. The educational and cultural activities of the Centre make a significant contribution to the maintenance of religious and ethnic tolerance in Russia, while acting as an intrinsic element in the system of Russian education, enabling the Greek ethnic minority and all the philhellenes to receive an ethno-oriented education, study the Greek language and study regional studies related to Greece. The Centre has successfully integrated into the Russian system of "multicultural education", serving as an additional ethno-cultural component of a single nationwide educational system. Every year, the Greek Cultural Centre hosts hundreds of events of the most varied topics, including the international level, which makes an invaluable contribution to the development of Russian-Greek relations in cultural, educational and other spheres, serves the high goal of the formation of a multicultural society in Russia, the maintenance and development of interethnic peace and dialogue. The authors pay special attention to the topic of further institutionalization of the Centre's activities and its integration into the education system in the context of the trends in the formation of a new education system in Russia, an advanced relative world experience in this field.
