1-(3,3-Dimethyl-3,4-dihydroisoquinoline-1-yl)-1-(quinoline-2-yl)methane (I) is studied using X-ray diffraction analysis. Molecule I is shown to have a flattened structure and to exist in the enamine tautomeric form: the active hydrogen atom is at the N(1) atom of the dihydroisoquinoline fragment. Molecule I is stabilized by the N-H⋯N intramolecular hydrogen bond.
