About edition of the Oroanatomical Terminology and its Russian equivalent

Objective. The purpose of the article is to present the original Oroanatomic terminology with Russian equivalents. Material and methods. The Russian National Oroanatomic Committee of the Scientific Medical Society of Anatomists, Histologists and Embryologists of Russia has developed and published for the first time in the world an Oroanatomic Terminology with Russian equivalents, which was approved by the plenum of the Scientific Medical Society of Anatomists, Histologists and Embryologists of Russia and published in 2023. Results. The article describes the features of the original Oroanatomic terminology with Russian equivalents and the stages of the work of the Russian National Oroanatomic Committee on its creation. This publication is the world's first Oroanatomic Terminology. It includes 2.294 terms related to the head and neck, selected from the revised Anatomical Terminology (TA2), Neuroanatomical Terminology (TNA) and Histological Terminology (TH) and Embryological Terminology (TE2). Conclusion. The original Oroanatomical Terminology, the first attempt is designed to help morphologists and clinicians better navigate the modern anatomical nomenclature of the head and neck regions and promote the integration of Russian morphology into the world academic and scientific space. © 2024, Media Sphera Publishing Group.
