Menstrual cycle and hormonal contraception: regulation, efficacy and safety

Menstrual disorders are one of the most urgent problems in gynecology. Abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB), heavy menstrual bleeding (HMB) and intermenstrual bleeding (IMB) encompass a wide range of nosologies under the umbrella term “menstrual disorders”. According to the current national clinical guidelines «Abnormal uterine bleeding» (2024), combined oral contraceptives (COCs) are one of the most effective treatments for HMB with a high level of evidence (B-2). High efficacy and safety of COCs based on E4/DRSP in the correction of HMB, AUB and IMB in a patient cohort was demonstrated. © Издательство «Династия», 2024.
