Perioperative management strategies for genitourinary syndrome of menopause

Genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM) is one of the most relevant and common postmenopausal disorders. Atrophic changes associated with progressive estrogen deficiency in postmenopausal patients affect not only epithelial but also connective tissue and muscle compartments of the pelvic floor, which also often leads to the manifestation of various pelvicorg an prolapse phenotypes requiring surgical correction.
