A comprehensive review on ceria based materials for environmental-related applications

This contribution provides a comprehensive overview on the use of cerium oxide (CeO2) in various fields including biomedical, water treatment, fuel cells and photocatalytic applications. Numerous methods of synthesizing cerium oxide nanoparticles, including sol–gel methods and doping with other elements, are explored. The article highlights the potential and versatility of CeO2 NPs in various disciplines and discusses future perspectives and challenges in their respective applications. © 2024
