Over the past two decades, China’s relations with Latin America have been dynamic and progressive. China maintained relations with many Latin American countries, despite the ideology of the political forces in the head of the region. China’s position is pragmatic, which was the starting point for the approach to the Latin American region. China's policy was determined by long-term interests in Latin America. Implementing an ambitious investment policy in the region, the Chinese side has consistently expanded access to markets for finished products and natural resources. This will allow the Chinese side to solve problems related to maintaining high rates of its economic development. Relations with China have played a positive role for the countries of Latin America in difficult periods of development of the world economy. The achieved volume of trade made it possible to minimize the negative consequences of financial shocks and overcome difficulties in relations with other extra-regional centers of power. © 2022.
