Cost Analysis of the Combined Application of 3D-Printing and BIM Technologies in the Construction Industry

This paper calls into the question of combined application of 3D-Printing and BIM technologies in the construction industry. The general panorama of the discussed topic is given in order to simplify the understanding and conduct a more complete analysis of the recent literature and gained experience. The necessity for these technologies incorporation has become evident. The purpose of this study was to determine the possible feasibility and economic analysis of the use of 3D printing and BIM technologies in the construction industry in the terms of their mutual utilization at the same time. The main limitations of this analysis are underlined below in order to discuss the obtained results properly. The presented opportunities of these technologies utilization could be considered to be promising and have a vital future application in the construction industry. The stated below results are confirmed with the previous research. The possible future of the combined development of 3D-printing and BIM technologies application in the construction industry is also outlined in cooperation with the indicated gap in the current knowledge. Along with the existing economic benefits and cost saving due to the use of innovative technologies some expenses will be higher than compared with conventional method of construction, which is also taken into account in this article. © 2022 American Institute of Physics Inc..
