CLINICAL APPLICATION OF ORTHODONTIC MINI PLATE IN ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT

Introduction: One of the biggest challenges in orthodontics is stable skeletal support. To solve this problem, various intra- and extraoral devices are used, which, compared to classical orthodontic biomechanics, avoid loss of support [1-4]. However, with partial loss of teeth, extraoral appliances become ineffective, and when used, aesthetic indicators sharply deteriorate. The most progressive solution is the use of devices for temporary skeletal support. These include miniscrews and miniplates. All systems have many advantages, one of which is the large variability in the location of the device and the point of application of traction to move the teeth. However, even with such diversity, there are clinical cases in which it is impossible to achieve the ideal position of the working part of the device due to their standardized structure or the anatomical characteristics of the patient. It is for such cases that we suggest using customized miniplates. Often in the process of orthodontic treatment, the doctor has to deal with the fact that in addition to solving the immediate problem of treatment, he has to carry out unplanned (but at the same time forced) tooth movements associated with the difficulty of accurately predicting the biomechanics of movements in each specific clinical case. In the future, such unwanted movements lead to an increase in the duration of orthodontic treatment.
