As the exchanges between countries around the world become more and more frequent, cross-cultural communication between people of various countries is inevitable. However, because the language and culture between people are different after all, cultural conflicts often occur during cross- cultural communication. Leading to communication failure. There are many reasons for cross-cultural communication barriers, such as misattribution of communicative behaviors, stereotypes, cultural differences, etc. This article mainly discusses stereotypes in cross-cultural communication. It believes that Western stereotypes of China can be divided into three categories, namely stereotypes caused by historical prejudice, stereotypes caused by cultural centrism and stereotypes caused by poor information disseminated by the media. impression. This article takes the Hollywood movie «Crazy Rich Asians,» as an example to briefly analyze the stereotypes existing in it. In addition, this article also proposes corresponding solution strategies from the national level and the individual level.
