PECULIARITIES OF TRANSLATION OF MUSICOLOGICAL TEXTS

The paper consists of the ideas of I.S. Alekseeva, concerning the types of information of musicological texts and strategies for their translation. The analysis of types of information was based on the examples of translation from the book of musical critic D.L. Collier “Louis Armstrong. American genius” (1983). The paper is aimed at providing a practical approach to the use of Alekeeva’s ideas in the process of translation of musicological texts and investigation of the translatological classification of musicological texts.
