This paper deals with maintainance strategies for building structures. Repair and maintenance services of Civil structures mainly include work undertaken to maintain the proper condition of the building, bridge etc., its services and normal operations. The use for which the structures are designed is a major factor in determining the level of service required. Theoretically more advanced approach is developed and its possible use in the field of civil structure. Excessive maintenance should be avoided. At the same time, structures maintenance must ensure the safety of residents or the public and must comply with legal requirements. Necessity also depends on intensity of use. Before maintainance is carried out three stages has to be followed, inspection, examiming to findout the current state of the structure. Investigation, collection and evaluation of information through assement, load testing, document serach among others. Assessment, activities done in order to verify the reliability of the structure.
