New data on platinum mineralization in gold ore of the Sukhoi Log deposit (Lena gold-bearing district, Russia)

Existence of various forms of platinum metals in Sukhoi Log gold deposit which is the largest gold deposit in Russia has been shown. The native metal form, the phases of Pt-Cu-Fe system are noted. This makes it possible to consider Sukhoi Log as platinum-gold deposit. Possible presence of platinum metals characterized by chemical bond with carbon has been studied. High-carbon concentrates have been produced. The concentrates have been investigated. Results of the investigations have been presented. Contents of carbon in the concentrates have been 91.78 and 53.31 percent. Contents of platinum have been 500 and 1,000 g per ton. It has been shown that accumulation of platinum is connected only with its high acid resistance.
