CHINA`S ROLE IN EAST ASIA

This article is devoted to the actual problem of transformation of foreign policy strategy of China in Eastern Asia during the last years. The main aspect of Chinese policy in the region are domination of economic approaches and practical embodiment of “soft power” concept. China seeks to transfer reviews about problematic points in economical interaction with the region`s countries and decisions about territorial disputes from the multilateral level to bilateral level, furthermore actively counteract to the policy of the USA and Japan, trying to make an “anti-sin coalition” from the perspective of institutional design within the political-military organization by the type of NATO. Nevertheless, as long as the territorial disputes with a number of ASEAN countries are not resolved, China's political strategy in a region is in a losing position. The recent escalation of the conflict around the Paracel Islands and Spratly archipelago can be continued in other matters. The US has already demonstrated that they are ready to confront China in the strongest terms. At the same time, with China's position strengthening on the world stage, there is growing desire among the Chinese leadership to support the related political regimes, particularly in East Asia, that is North Korea and Vietnam
