ГЕН (CCR5), СПОСОБНЫЙ ИЗМЕНИТЬ МЕДИЦИНУ

GENE (CCR5), THAT CAN CHANGE THE PHASE OF MEDICINE

CCR5 (C-C chemokine receptor 5) is the adhesion protein. It occurs on the surfaces of CD4 cells, macrophages, dendritic and microglial cells. The protein participates in the attachment of the antigen to the leukocytes. The mutation CCR5-delta32 is a deletion of the gene. As a result, CCR5 does not go beyond the membrane, as a consequence the receptor can not contact the antigen. Homozygotes according to CCR-delta32 are not susceptible to HIV, plague and natural smallpox.
