ГОТИЧЕСКАЯ ДРАМА И ЕЕ СЦЕНИЧЕСКОЕ ВОПЛОЩЕНИЕ В ГЕОРГИАНСКОМ ТЕАТРЕ

В статье исследуется генезис и эволюция английской готической драмы XVIII века. Рассматриваются ключевые этапы развития этого литературного явления, приводится список и краткое описание наиболее значительных произведений, производится анализ характерных элементов их художественного мира, а также особенностей их постановок в английских театрах рубежа XVIII-XIX вв. Автор подтверждает примерами преемственный характер готических драм по отношению к произведениям, входящим в их широкий культурно-исторический контекст.

GOTHIC DRAMA AND ITS SCENE IN THE GEORGIAN THEATER

The article explores the genesis and evolution of the English Gothic drama of the 18th century. The key stages in the development of this literary phenomenon are considered, a list and a brief description of the most significant works are presented, an analysis of the characteristic elements of their artistic world, as well as the features of their productions in English theaters of the turn of the XVIII-XIX centuries. The author confirms by examples the successive character of the Gothic dramas in relation to works that are part of their broad cultural and historical context.
