Idioms and Their Effect in Learning English as a Foreign Language

Language is very diverse and complicated in its nature. The need for analytic study of languages was necessary to decipher the ambiguous state of the existing languages. Thus, many attempts have been made to discover and explain the wonders of human languages. New studies were dedicated to studying and highlighting the different linguistic phenomena. These new sciences helped in the teaching and learning of any language, especially for non-native speakers. Specialists and linguists around the world started investigating in field works in order to create techniques to make the teaching and learning of languages easier and enjoyable. Moreover, English as becoming the language of global communication, made the learning of it as a second or foreign language a must. Teachers have found new ways for teaching English and for helping non-native learners achieve their goals of mastering language fluency. Therefore, this paper focuses on the importance of using English idioms as a new method to learn the language effectively.
