Summary The top-soil of the east of the Nile Delta is non-homogeneous, characterized by bedding, the granulometric structure is clayey. The maintenance of a humus in an arable layer is low (1,85%). In recent years processes of salinization of soils and dehumifiсation amplify and as a result there is a degradation of soils.
