О термоалгометрии и измерении сопротивления кожи в акупунктурных точках с позиций физики

On the thermoalgometry and skin conductance measurements in the acupuncture points from the viewpoint of physics. Thermoalgometry, a diagnostic method based on the pain sensitivity measurements in the acupuncture points, is discussed here. After a literature overview it is concluded that thermoalgometry, as acupuncture in general, has never been satisfactorily confirmed by scientific evidence. The same is true for diagnostic methods based on the skin conductance measurements in the acupuncture points. From the viewpoint of physics, selective measurements in the acupuncture or in other supposedly specific points (e.g. on fingers) has no comprehensible basis. Nonetheless, the methods are used in practice; and the patients are assured that early diagnostics e.g. of cardiovascular, oncological and infectious diseases is possible in this way. In conclusion, scientifically unfounded methods, including those based on traditional or folk healing, should not be presented under the guise of evidence-based medicine.
