The synergy effects of antibiotics and “Zeroks®” against strains that are resistant to antibiotics was found. It is noted that the strain # 9 Agrobacterium rhizogenes, causing root mat disease of cucumber, was highly resistant to all antibiotics except highly toxic polymyxin, and chloramphenicol, and may carry genes for universal antibiotic resistance. This pathogen is released from fresh fruit cucumber grown on infected plants, and can serve as a donor of antibiotic resistance to human pathogens living in the digestive tract.
