Stiffness of Reinforced Concrete Flexural Elements in Some National Codes

The paper considers deformability of flexural concrete members presented in the five national codes. The main characteristic of materials affecting the structural deformability is the modulus of deformation. In comparison with steels the concretes have the more heterogeneous structure, and therefore, the range of the modulus value variation for different concrete classes is much wider than for materials with homogeneous structures.
