SPIRITUAL TRADITIONS IN THE RUSSIAN LITERATURE (ON THE MATERIAL OF LINGUISTIC AND CULTURAL ANALYSIS OF THE POEM BY S. ESENIN)

It is impossible to study a foreign language without considering its culture. The best way to get to know a culture is to study its literature. Russian literature is based on spiritual principles. The well-known Russian writers applied to the Bible and to religion. The works with religion motif are still meaningful for modern Russian culture and can be used as text material for teaching Russian as a foreign language. The usage of such texts can help foreigners to enrich their knowledge of Russian culture and teach them to accept moral norms as international ones. The reading of these texts can be made easier with the help of linguistic and cultural analysis.
