Старообрядцы, иноверцы и русский капитализм (эссе по исторической социологии хозяйства)

ORTHODOX SCHISMATICS, ALIENS AND RUSSIAN CAPITALISM (essay on historical sociology of economy)

This article is devoted to the research of peculiarities of economic behaviour of representatives of etnoconfessional minorities in developed traditional societies. The phenomenon of business activism that characterizes the peculiarity of professional choice typical for the members of these groups, is examined by the author as a problem of historical sociology. As examples illustrating social regularities are given two concrete historic societies: the followers of Russian religions split in 17th century (orthodox schismatics) and European (West-European and Russian) Jews. As a result of the analysis the author makes a conclusion that life and activity of the representatives of the abovementioned groups, realized primarily in the spheres of business and commercial activity, as an important social fact, was related not as much to deep, endogenetic factors (kultural-axiological, psychological, etc.) as to the factors of "structural origin" (external forces, defined the originality of real status that groups in the social structure included them in it's composition of social systems).
