This article is devoted to the existing methods of processing food waste. Such groups of methods as thermochemical, physico-chemical, biochemical and classical were studied. In the course of the study, the characteristics were considered, based on this, conclusions were drawn about their ecological and economic efficiency. Most of the methods still require development to achieve the best performance, but the most effective of them are hydrothermal carbonation, transesterification, acetone-butyl fermentation, fermentation.
