To analyze the spatial structure of forest stands, researchers need data on the location of trees, measured with an accuracy of a few tens of centimeters. Such information makes it possible to build forecasts of the dynamics of forest stands in the context of global climate change based on advanced methods of spatial statistics. Estimates of the accuracy of the methods used for mapping forest stands and their results are usually not available. That is why, the assessment of the accuracy of the methods and tools used, and the estimates obtained by them, as well as the possibility of comparison with the results obtained by modern and traditional methods, require research. In this work, the following were studied: the spatial structure of forest stands, trial plots, various methods of mapping forest stands, as well as phytocenoses and physical and geographical characteristics of the study area. The author carried out mapping of accounting trees by two methods on a permanent trial plot in the State Natural Reserve “Kaluzhskiye Zaseki”, analyzed the data obtained in the R Studio environment, compared various methods of mapping forest stands, and analyzed the structure of forest stands on a trial plot
