The effects of activated carbon modified with magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticles were studied in comparison with commercial humic preparations in relation to the antibiotic ciprofloxacin and copper contained separately and together in soddy-podzolic soil samples. The combined action of pollutants causes a greater toxic effect on the growth of plant roots than copper and antibiotic alone. The phytostimulating efficiency of Fe3O4 - activated carbon turned out to be higher with combined pollution. A possible mechanism of competitive interaction of copper cations and antibiotic on the surface of the sorbent is proposed, which explains the advantages of the detoxifying ability of the efficiency of Fe3O4 - activated carbon.
