POPULARIZATION OF SCIENCE: A PUBLIC AND LOCAL COMMUNITIES VIEW

This article is written on the basis of the original data of applied research conducted by the method of questionnaire survey. The analysis focuses on the development of science and scientific knowledge in modern Kazakhstani society. The article describes the issues of interest of the Kazakh public in science. The ideas of the Kazakh public regarding the status of Kazakh science, the openness of information about the achievements of Kazakh scientists, the future of Kazakh science are determined. The study was conducted in Kazakhstan as part of a theme funded by the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (Grant No. АР09259979).
