ENDLESS HOUSE

An article that goes under the title «Endless house» was written by architect Simon Unwin and published in his book «Twenty-five buildings every architect should understand». The article describes the project of the Endless house, designed by Frederick Kiesler, who devoted most of his life to this project. The text is based on the idea that a man should be inextricably linked to nature, and that the architecture should reflect this. This idea is expressed through the form of the building itself, that interprets the movement of a human body. In addition, space within the house is organized in such a way that it forms an organic human life process. This article describes in detail the identities of different places in this house project, their formation and purpose, and it identifies their functional zoning. What is more, the author of the article establishes a relationship between infinity and space of the house. In this house everything is endless and parts are connected to one another like it happens in real life. The conceptual similarities with other structures are identified to be based on the principle of infinity. In addition, the author of the article considers not only the overall form and concept, but the structure of the house, its objects and the way they affect a person. Simon Unwin defined this project as the manifesto of freedom from traditional foundations and dogmas and as a space that was created by nature itself. Foundations and dogmas and as a space that was created by nature itself.
