Role of Lactobacillus reuteri in human health

The role that the gut microbiota plays in maintaining human health cannot be overemphasized. Numerous studies have shown that dysbiosis is associated with several pathological conditions. Some probiotic strains have proven to be effective both in improving the composition of the gut microbiota and in preventing or correcting certain pathological conditions. This review presents data on different strains of Lactobacillus reuteri, primarily an updated information on the efficacy of the probiotic strain L. reuteri DSM 17938 in the treatment and prevention of various human diseases. © 2024, Dynasty Publishing House.
