This review is devoted to drug-coated balloon catheters in percutaneous coronary interventions. There are numerous data confirm-ing the efficacy and safety of their use in patients with in-stent restenosis, as well as in lesions of small arteries. Evidence base for their use in patients with bifurcation coronary stenosis remains sparse. Nevertheless, modern studies demonstrate no advantages of dou-ble-stent bifurcation stenting over single-stent methods with drug-eluting balloon catheters including patients with bifurcation coronary stenosis. At the same time, there are unresolved issues of selecting patients for such interventions, technical aspects of stent-ing, feasibility of intravascular imaging methods and insufficient information about long-term results of treatment of such patients. © 2022, Media Sphera Publishing Group.
