COMMUNITY-ACQUIRED PNEUMONIA IN CHILDREN: CORRECTING MISTAKES

The article describes typical and most common errors that cause underdiagnosis and overdiagnosis of community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) in children. The diagnostic criteria for confirming/ eliminating the diagnosis are reviewed. Attention is drawn to the difficulties in interpreting of X-ray changes, establishing the etiology of CAP. Particular attention is paid to the principles of antibacterial therapy and the analysis of the main mistakes in the treatment of CAP in children. © 2022, Pediatria Ltd..
