Engineering Failure Analysis publishes critical reviews on specific mechanisms of failure analysis and original research papers describing failure analysis based on case studies, experimentally validated numerical simulations and material characterisation methods, including fractographic analysis and in-depth investigation of the failures mechanisms on a microscopic scale. The journal provides an essential reference for analysing and preventing engineering failures, emphasising the root cause of failure of engineering components, structures or systems. Failures involving new engineering materials, manufacturing processes (such as additive manufacturing) and analytical techniques/methodology (such as artificial intelligence and deep learning) are hot-topics within the journal scope. The submissions should propose mitigation actions to avoid new failures.
