This article deals with techniques for minimizing the manifestations of phonetic interference in the phonology of vowels in the Sinhalese and Russian languages. Particular attention is paid to the prosodic organization of speech in the Sinhalese and Russian languages. In addition, the Sinhala language occupies one zone of articulation, which includes six segments: labial, dental, alveolar, middle lingual, back lingual and laryngeal. In Russian, the laryngeal zone is not involved. The formation of sounds occurs in the dental segment with a raised tip of the tongue.
