LEGAL NATURE OF IRAN'S NUCLEAR DEAL

Primarily the Iran's nuclear deal was meant to provide a mechanism to restrict Iran's legal authority and powers over nuclear proliferation and to keep Iranian state in compliance with the Non-Proliferation Treaty. In return, Iran could enjoy lifting sanctions imposed on by the UN Security Council and United States over the nuclear dispute they had. The JCPOA have still been a controvertible by legal nature. This research analyzes the legal nature and status of the JCPOA. It shows that the JCPOA was never characterized as a treaty, rather it was categorized as a plan of action.
