EMOTIONAL BURNOUT CAUSED BY STUDYING: A SUBJECT FIELD REVIEW

It is known that burnout is relevant for adults at work. It is well described in this field. However, it is also widespread among university and high school students. The aim of this subject field review is to systematize and analyze existing research on emotional burnout in school among adolescents. The methods of bibliometric analysis were used while searching. The Scopus database was used to find relevant articles in peer-review journals in the period of time from 2002 to 2021. 1.024 documents were found. 96.9% of them were excluded because they were not relevant to the scientific field of this research. Remaining articles were screened for relevance with the topic. Thus, 31 articles were included in the current review. Now there already are a lot of studies on burning out in school, some of its causes of development, and consequences. However, there still are some unexplored correlations between burning out and environment. The research work presented has made an attempt to define and look through these correlations. The results of the study can be interesting for the professionals dealing with university and high school students and responsible for educational processes.
