SOLUBLE SALTS IN SOILS OF FOOTHILLS AND MOUNTAINS OF DAGESTAN

The salt content of soils of the foothills and mountains of Dagestan increases with the decline of moisture and the transition from plateaus and slopes to valleys. Soils on the eluvium of limestones and sandstones are not affected by salinization; those developed on gypsiferous and salinized rocks within dry-forest and dry-steppe belts do contain salts. The salinization is the sulfate type.
