Система образования в Эфиопии: традиция и современность

В центре внимания автора статьи – традиционное (благородное и церковное) и современное образование в Эфиопии. Подробно рассмотрены Кыне Бет (поэтическая школа) и Мэцхаф Бет (Дом книги) – школа комментариев к священному писанию, которая является высшей ступенью церковного образования. Сделан вывод о сосуществовании двух систем образования в Эфиопии и показаны основные этапы и причины имевшихся неудач в развитии системы современного образования.

The Education System in Ethiopia: Tradition and Our Time

The author of the article centers attention around traditional (noble and ecclesiastical) and modern education in Ethiopia. He thoroughly examines the Kyne Bet (poetic school) and Mezhaf Bet (House of Book) – the school of commentaries to the Scripture, which is the highest stage of church education. The author notes the coexistence of the two systems of education in Ethiopia and names the main stages of and reasons for failures in the development of modern education in the country.
