Thiamin deficit in psoriatic patients abusing alcohol

107 patients with psoriasis abusing alcohol had lower levels of blood thiamin freeform 7.6 ± 0.05 mkg%, general form - 9.9 ± 1.8 mkg%, associate with albumin 2.3 ± 0.04 mkg%. Blood thiamin levels were normal: 11.2 ± 0.8 mkg%, 22.4 ± 1.9 mkg%, 11.2 ± 1.2 mkg% correspondingly in health. In heavy drinking psoriatic patients specific clinical signs of the thiamin deficit developed more often than in those not abusing alcohol. Thiamindiphosphate (cocarboxylase hydrochloride), Benphothiamin, Phosphothiamin are new preparations presenting coenzyme forms of thiamin used for treatment of 64 patients with psoriasis in heavy drinkers. The high therapeutic efficacy and certain normalization of blood thiamin levels obtained recommends these medicines as the method of choice in the combined treatment of psoriatic patients abusing alcohol.
