SUSTAINABLE ECONOMIC GROWTH OF EUROPEAN TRANSITION ECONOMIES: THE CASE OF FDI IN POLAND

Poland has opened their economy in the early 1990's and transited to a market economy. During transition periods, the Polish economy had undergone harsh economic turbulences even compared with other Central European transition economies. However, the Polish economy is one of the most stably growing economies in Europe at the moment as successfully attracting foreign capitals in their land. In this vein, this study investigates the relationship of FDI inflows and the Polish economy based on macro-economic indicators and a Person's coefficient test. The results of a Person's coefficient test present positive and significant correlations of FDI inflows and economic growth of Poland.
