Problems of Reliance on the Oil Factor in the Economic Development of the Country: Retrospective and Perspective (USSR, Russia, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates)

The article examines the problem of the role of the oil factor in the economic development of the country, in comparison between the USSR and the Russian Federation, as well as two significant oil exporters - Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. An attempt has been made to summarize the essential aspects characterizing the economy’s dependence on oil revenues in the conditions of the different type of economic structure of these countries, nevertheless, similar in the orientation to the export of energy raw materials. © 2021, Rossiiskaya Akademiya Nauk, Institut Istorii (Russian Academy of Sciences, Institute of General Hist).
