Automated Morphometric Analysis of 3D Data in Paleoanthropological Research

Abstract—: Modern methods of non-contact measurements have great potential for paleoanthropological research both for expanding the capabilities of morphometric analysis, and for making unique paleoanthropological materials available to a wider range of researchers. The paper discusses technologies for acquiring three-dimensional data and techniques for their analysis developed for digital paleoanthropological research. New ways of documenting paleoanthropological materials based on novel data types and the advantages of application of new data are discussed. © 2021, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.
